Single owner iconic Dewey Weber relic!
This Performer longboard was purchased in the summer of 1968 at the Strawberry Sun Surf Shop in Stone Harbor, NJ. When not in use, it was kept at the Sherwood House in an attic room where four guys paid $12.50 a week to stay during the summer. They all worked at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House, which is still open today! Check out the picture from 1968 of the original owner in the Sherwood House attic with the board.
After the summer of ‘68 the board was transported to PA where it was lovingly stored until 2019. In July of 2019 it made its way back to the ocean here in St. Augustine for a small bit of surfing. After five decades of fun and memories it is finally time to change owners.
This Performer is crafted with a contrasting blue 1” stringer trimmed by ¼” dark wood with matching wood trimmed tail piece. The Weber Performer logo is in perfect condition with vibrant coloring as is the pinstriping around the nose. There were small professional repairs to the nose and tail as pictures and the 11” fin was glassed in. Overall, it is an absolute beaut of a board and piece of surf art. Definitely one of the nicest vintage surfboards we’ve seen come through the shop in quite a long time!
